Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility to produce monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in line with Group policies.
  • Develops implements and maintains general accounting systems and controls; supervises and participates in the review and analysis of accounting records.
  • Overall responsibility for maintaining lease agreements for rented premises and their accounting in line with SLFRS 16. Responsible to ensure all reconciliations are done monthly basis including Bank and Credit Card Reconciliations. Assists in the preparation of financial plans/Annual budgets for Hospital Lab operations by analyzing and evaluating statistical and financial data, projected patient levels and desired market share.
  • Ensure Lab operations compliance with regulatory requirements including licenses etc.
  • Responsibility to ensure that professional and travelling payments are made in line with company policies and procedure on due dates.
  • Plans, assigns, and reviews the work of subordinate accountants and clerical personnel; trains and evaluates personnel. Ensure all payments are made as they fall due including utility bills and tightly monitor working capital. Responsibility to ensure credit sales conforms to company credit policy and dues are collected on due dates.
  • Ensure to strict compliance with Companies Act, Sri Lanka Accounting Standards, CSE, Inland Revenue Act and Labour Laws etc,.
  • Carry out regular stock counts in hospital and outer lab network.
  • Liaise with External and Internal auditors.


Ideal Candidate Should Possess

  • An associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka /ACCA. Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka /ACCA passed finalized would encourage to apply Minimum of 05 years post qualifying experience in commercial sector.
  • Sound knowledge of taxation and tax planning.
  • Excellent knowledge on requirements of International Financial Reporting Standards.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, data analysis tools and other accounting tools. Excellent communication skills with strong analytical, presentation and organizing skills.
