Role Profile – Corporate Development Junior Analyst
• Reporting into the Senior Associate, Corporate Development, the role of Corporate Development Junior Analyst is to support the team on various M&A projects from screening to financial modelling, assistance with the preparation of deal materials and coordination of due diligence activities
• Working towards developing responsibility for key workstreams within the M&A transaction project lifecycle, including:
o market analysis;
o identifying, researching and profiling potential M&A targets;
o development of robust valuation models / analysis; and
o analysis of financial due diligence
o coordination of due diligence activities
• The role is expected to progressively develop to enable the individual to take on responsibility for parts of the deal process whilst also gaining insight and exposure to the full end to end M&A transaction project lifecycle
• The ambition is to develop the individual to associate level and then in the future to run an M&A transaction from A-Z
Qualifications
Skills & Experience
• Very strong analytical capabilities in advanced financial modelling, general data analysis/presentation and possibly valuation
• 1-2 years of finance experience (preferably M&A but FP&A or commercial finance acceptable), preferably with a good understanding of and passion for the high tech, IT & software industry
• Strong desire to develop the skillset to become a skilled M&A professional
• Strong business acumen with clear commercial drive and customer focus
• Strong ability to develop long lasting relationships, externally and internally
• Independent, with an ability to prioritize and make decisions under pressure
• High integrity and an excellent team player
• Strong academics, with possibly a chartered accountancy qualification
• Fluent in spoken and written English. Other language skills are highly valued
• Likely background: experience in an investment bank or M&A advisory firm, the transaction services or corporate finance teams of a professional services firm, or within the in-house corporate development function or finance function of a multinational corporate organisation
