Description

Wiley is looking to employ a Data Privacy Manager/Analyst - Technology to develop and implement privacy data governance ensuring that data lifecycle is defined, data mapping and data flows are visualized, and data inventory details are maintained. This brand-new role has been created to drive and implement GDPR governance across the business and to drive awareness of global data privacy requirements and enable Privacy by Design within the technology teams.

This is an exciting chance to join a high-profile team in a varied role, which will provide exposure to all areas of the business.

The Data Privacy Manager will work closely with the Data Protection Officer ensuring that all Group businesses operations maintain compliance with all current data privacy legislation and relevant regulation/codes of practice. The role supports the Data Protection Officer in the implementation and ongoing development of the Company’s Data Protection Program.


  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Cyber Security/Computing/Information Technology
  • Minimum work experience of 3-5 years’ in either Privacy, Cybersecurity or Technology
  • Prior experience in GDPR and other privacy regulations
  • Experience in privacy, governance, and risk and compliance
  • Extensive experience with Data Mapping
  • Experience in building Data inventory’s
  • There will be a degree in Business process mapping, so you will need experience working in this kind of environment.
  • Demonstrate deep knowledge of data privacy, data lifecycle, data mapping, and data classification.
  • Deep knowledge of privacy regulations and control implementation.
  • Have an understanding of code.
  • Write common standards policies to ensure consistent implementation of data subject rights capabilities in applications.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with IT, project and application development teams, management, and business personnel.
  • Analysis, problem-solving and influencing change.
  • Detail focused, ability to work independently, managing conflicting priorities with ease and efficiency, highly professional and polite with the ability to be firm and assertive when necessary.
  • The ability to effectively influence colleagues to ensure that they understand the importance of data protection.
  • Experience in evaluating problems, identifying core issues, and recommending suitable solutions.
  • English - Excellent written and verbal communication skills

 

Desirable

  • BS or MS degree preferred.
  • Expertise in Data Privacy regulations, compliance, and privacy concepts
  • Experience in OneTrust’s Privacy Management Platform solution
  • OneTrust Privacy Management Professional Certificate is preferred.
  • The previous implementation of data governance programs
  • Experience with internal and vendor audits
  • Knowledge of Agile project management methodology
  • Technical infrastructure background with involvement in solution design and integration for Enterprise products/technology
  • Experience planning the implementation and integration of Data Identification and Classification and tools
  • Any other language is an advantage.

  • Privacy Management Platform – ensure the completion and visualization of data mapping in One Trust by collaborating with technology and business application owners.
  • Administration of Privacy Management Platform – User access management, assessment follow-up, and administration of OneTrust Privacy Management Platform.
  • Work with technology engineering teams to assess applications with regards to Data Subject rights, define compliance gaps, and solutions of those.

  • Build and develop knowledge on ‘Privacy by Design principles.
  • Incident Management Support – act as a technology liaison for DPO & incident response team, legal compliance, and relevant business in the case of a privacy incident and assist the handling the incident in accordance with internal policies and applicable laws.
  • Work with IT and business stakeholders to understand business requirements and provide guidance and recommendations.
  • Complete and up to date capture of data flows and dependencies across technology landscape as per data protection requirements.
  • Ensure the OneTrust tool is administered.
  • Ensure that applications can fulfill data subject rights as per global data protection regulations.
  • Ensure that applications do not keep personal data longer than necessary.
  • Embed a culture of Privacy by Design within Technology teams.
  • Provide technology know-how as it relates to the incident to drive timely and adequate resolution.
  • Ensure appropriate technical and organizational measures are implemented to ensure privacy by design principles are met.
