Description
The Manager - Industrial Engineering is responsible for overseeing industrial engineering activities during the product development phase. Key responsibilities include guiding the team in conducting method studies for various sample options and recommending the optimal method. The role also involves providing inputs for preparing the tech pack, identifying improvements, and finding automation solutions to eliminate or simplify processes and reduce SMV.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in product development activities to understand and analyze new styles
- Responsible for accurate computation of key calculations like SMV, Thread consumption for different stages of Product Development and costing support
- Attend pre-production discussions, ensure effective communication of technical details of new styles to Plant IE teams and coordinate with Plant IE on the achievement of production efficiencies
- Responsible for the total garment costing department, including SMV, thread consumption and fabric YY
- Responsible for the PDC automation department, connecting with the group automation team and leading EPM improvement projects with the automation team
Education
A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Clothing Technology or a related field, along with a valid GSD license
Experience
- 6 to 9+ years of proven experience in Industrial Engineering within the apparel or manufacturing industry, with a preference for experience in the product development stage
- Analytical / mathematical problem- solving skills and an affinity to adopt quantitative techniques
