Role Summary -
Manager - Legal will bear responsibility to provide legal support to the Group in Commercial Law including agreements and related documentation, Labor Law and industrial disputes, and liaison & coordination with external agencies.
Job Description -
- Draft and/or review legal documents, contracts and agreements and monitor legal obligations under agreements to ensure compliance.
- Provide legal advice and support to the Group regarding real estate, transactions, contracts and statutory compliance.
- Handle registrations of the Group and subsidiaries under the Companies Act and Intellectual Property Law.
- Identify risks with in the business, examine and evaluate the adequacy of controls available for mitigation and/or elimination of risks.
- Communicate audit findings to the senior management, ensure observations are supported by appropriate evidence and issues are articulated clearly.
- Contribute to the development of processes within the Group to improve overall quality of service delivery.
- Develop a portfolio of legal services to be offered across the Group along with the cost estimate.
- Trade Mark Registration.
- Handling Notarial work.
- Provide other functions with support beyond scope of responsibilities in order to achieve common organizational goals.
- Undertake any other tasks assigned by the Line Manager.
- Cooperate with other departments to achieve organizational goals.
Person Specification
- Attorney at Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka with a Notary License.
- 05+ years of experience in handling corporate law including company secretarial work.
