Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Architect, Service Management and Automation to join our Technology Operations Department. This role involves designing and implementing automation solutions to enhance our IT services and operations, as well as architecting Jira Service Management (JSM) solutions to support IT Service Management (ITSM) processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in programming, scripting, monitoring, database technologies, cloud infrastructure, and ITSM tools.

 

How you will make an impact:

 

Design and Development: 

  • Architect and develop service automation solutions using programming languages such as Java, JavaScript (NodeJS), and frontend frameworks (Angular/React). 
  • Utilize scripting languages like Bash and Python to create automation scripts and tools. 
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins and GitLab CI. 
  • Design and architect Jira Service Management solutions to support ITSM processes including Incident, Problem, Change, and Service Request Management. 
  • Develop and implement high-quality, scalable, and maintainable features for JSM.

Monitoring and Performance: 

  • Integrate and configure monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, New Relic, AppDynamics, and SolarWinds to ensure the health and performance of IT services. 
  • Analyze system performance data and provide recommendations for improvements. 

Source Control and Configuration Management: 

  • Manage source code using tools like Git and SVN. 
  • Implement configuration management practices using Chef, Puppet, and Ansible. 

Database Management: 

  • Work with both RDBMS (MySQL, Oracle, MSSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra) databases. 
  • Design and optimize database schemas to support automation solutions. 

Microservices and Containerization: 

  • Develop and maintain microservices architectures and containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes. 

Service Management and Support: 

  • Apply IT Service Management principles to design automated workflows and processes. 
  • Develop and customize solutions in Jira Service Management to support IT operations. 
  • Build, maintain, and utilize a thorough knowledge of the JSM platform, and system administration best practices and guidelines. 
  • Stay up to date on the latest technologies and trends in the ITSM and Technology Operation space. 
  • Develop and/or enhance KB articles for both platform and front-end users. 

Agile and DevOps Practices: 

  • Participate in Agile and SCRUM practices to deliver high-quality automation solutions. 

What we look for :

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in computer science or an equivalent qualification. 
  • Proven experience with programming languages such as Java and JavaScript (NodeJS). 
  • Proficiency with frontend frameworks like Angular or React. 
  • Strong scripting skills in Bash and Python. 
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, New Relic, AppDynamics, and SolarWinds. 
  • Proficiency in working with both Linux and Windows operating systems. 
  • Database experience with RDBMS (MySQL, Oracle, MSSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra) technologies. 
  • Experience with containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes. 
  • Basic understanding of IT Service Management principles. 
  • Experience with log management and analysis tools like ELK and Splunk. 
  • Exposure to cloud infrastructure in AWS and Azure. 
  • Configuration management experience with Chef, Puppet, and Ansible. 
  • Experience with Jira Service Management development. 
  • An in-depth understanding of Java fundamentals and related frameworks, RESTful application development and methodologies. 
  • Strong experience with Linux administration, troubleshooting, and scripting. 
  • Solid knowledge of ITSM tools and processes. 
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and technical appreciation skills. 
  • Good knowledge and experience with Git and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform). 
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Prometheus, Mimir, and Grafana. 
  • Knowledge of ELK / ECK and OpsGenie / PagerDuty is a plus. 
  • Fluency in English, with the ability to work well with culturally diverse technical groups. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience with Atlassian products (Opsgenie, Jira, Confluence, Analytics, Intelligence, and Data Lake). 
  • Experience in designing and maintaining custom projects, workflows, schemes, screens, and field configurations. 
  • Familiarity with middleware services like Tray.io, Workato, and others.
